   History

Breeding and training Vizslas, Wirehaired Vizslas, German Wirehair and German Shorthair dogs for over 35 years in Europe and 25 years in the United States has given us solid proof that there is such a thing as a truly versatile hunting dog. Dogs which hunt feather and fur, upland or in water. PineTree kennels offers just such dogs for sale. Our dogs originate from the finest Hungarian and German bloodlines. We are proud to present our own line of PineTree fine gun dogs for sale throughout the year. Fourteen years ago, Steve Arnoczy the owner of PineTree Kennels, built a breeding and training center near the small towns of New Berlin and Morris New York. PineTree kennels is located on 27 acres and surrounded by thousands of acres of prime hunting country. With an abundance of prepared and natural hunting sites available PineTree kennels is the ideal partner to start, prepare or finish your fine gun dog.

We are proud to be NAVHDA Registered

The Versatile Hunting Dog Breeds
The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association defines versatility as "the dog that is bred and trained to dependably hunt and point game, to retrieve on both land and water, and to track wounded game on both land and water."
~ NAVHDA Aims, Programs, Test Rules

In the field, a versatile dog should exhibit a fine nose, staunch pointing and the desire to search for, track and retrieve game in a cooperative manner. A versatile dog needs to further prove his independence, stamina and quality of nose by transferring his search for, and retrieving of game, to the water. NAVHDA's testing program provides an opportunity for dogs to exhibit these characteristics while remaining obedient and in control at all times. True versatile dogs should perform all tasks with enthusiasm and be willing to work with, and for, their handlers.
The versatile breeds, as we know them today, are products of Europe. No distinctive versatile hunting breed has been developed in North America.
